Food Donations Welcome at Mochdre Recycling Centre
Bryson Recycling have teamed up with Crest and FareShare Cymru to provide a food donation point at their Recycling Centre in Mochdre, Colwyn Bay.
All donated food will be transferred to Crest’s community pantry, which is located at their Llandudno Junction Store on Ferry Farm Road. The community provides ambient foods such as tins, rice, pasta and cereals. Anybody can access food from the pantry, it is not means tested and is open to all.
Bryson Recycling are now managing five Recycling Centres on behalf of Conwy County Borough Council and Denbighshire County Council and this is just one of many community initiatives the social enterprise plans to introduce.
Gareth Walsh, General Manager at Bryson Recycling said “It is important to us to make a positive contribution in the local area where we live and work and we are delighted to launch this new initiative at our Recycling Centre which will redistribute food within the local area. If you are visiting our Mochdre Recycling Centre please consider donating to this programme to help those in need within our local community.”
Rod Williams, Managing Director at Crest said: “Food is accessible to everyone, as we know how hard it is to put food on the table with the rising costs of living. Crest is committed to helping people in our community, which is why we are funding the food we distribute to local people. Our foodbank is open every Tuesday and Thursday 11am - 12pm, with a hassle-free approach to accessing essential food and sanitary products".
