Conwy Food Bank Benefits from ‘Recycling Rewards’ Campaign

With the endorsement of Cllr Greg Robbins, Bryson Recycling has provided vital funding for Conwy Food Bank through its ‘Recycling Rewards’ Campaign.

‘Recycling Rewards’ is an innovative campaign designed by Bryson, the leading social enterprise who provide a garden waste collection service to householders on behalf of Conwy County Borough Council. For every tonne of garden waste collected through their service Bryson donates £1 to a local charity.

Since the garden waste service started in April 2020, Bryson have collected 6100 tonnes of garden waste, meaning they have donated £6100 to Conwy Food Bank.

Gareth Walsh, General Manager at Bryson Recycling said; “Our ‘Recycling Rewards’ campaign is a unique approach to encourage recycling and let us give something back to the local community where we deliver our services. We want to thank everyone who has used our garden waste collection service this year which has allowed us to donate this amount to Conwy Food Bank who provide vital support to individuals and families in the Conwy area.”

Conwy Food Bank is a non-funded voluntary organisation which endeavours to feed people living in the County of Conwy who are in crisis and unable to afford food.

Conwy Food Bank Co-ordinator Nancy Hughes, added; “Recycling Rewards has provided a vital boost of funding at a time when we need it most. Our service has been under additional pressure this year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and this funding will help us continue to provide support to those who need it most in the local area. Thanks to all the households who have made this donation possible and for helping us raise awareness about the important work that we do”.

The garden waste service provides households with fortnightly collections of garden waste from home.
