Bryson Supports Local Charities in Recycling Campaign
Bryson Recycling is donating over £6500 to two local charities through their annual “Recycling Rewards” campaign which aims to boost local recycling rates while raising much needed funds for charity.
Bryson Recycling manage three Recycling Centres in Denbighshire Council County Council, located at Rhyl, Ruthin and Denbigh, and two in Conwy County Borough Council area, located at Mochdre and Abergele. For every tonne recycled at the Denbighshire sites over the last year, £1 will be donated to RNLI Rhyl; for every tonne recycled at the Conwy sites, £1 will be donated to Abergele Community Action.
This campaign was launched in April 2023 and during the year 3171 tonnes were recycled at the Denbighshire sites, which will result in a £3171 donation to RNLI Rhyl. 3411 tonnes were recycled at the Conwy sites, meaning £3411 will be donated to Abergele Community Action.
Gareth Walsh, General Manager at Bryson Recycling said:
“We are delighted to make this donation through our Recycling Rewards campaign to two great charities which are making a really positive contribution in the local area. It’s great news that through using our Recycling Centres, residents are not just having a positive impact on the environment, but also helping to benefit our communities. I would encourage residents to keep on recycling so the Recycling Rewards scheme can help even more”.
Councillor Barry Mellor, Lead Member for Environment and Transport for Denbighshire County Council said, “This is a fantastic initiative run by Bryson Recycling and is a great way of giving back to the community and to two valuable charities in Abergele Community Action and RNLI Rhyl. Denbighshire County Council declared a climate change emergency in July 2019, and it aims to become a Net Carbon Zero Council by 31 March 2030. Recycling is a key element of delivering this ambitious programme and the Council is proud of its high recycling rates, although there is always room for improvement and we are working hard with partners, such as Bryson work towards this target.”
RNLI Rhyl Coxswain Martin Jones says “As a charity, the RNLI relies on the generosity of the public to keep it’s lifesaving service “afloat”. Donations help equip and train our volunteer crews in the best possible way, to keep them safe whilst saving lives at sea and around the coastline. We would like to thank Bryson Recycling for their amazing donation to RNLI Rhyl. This is another example of the great community spirit in our area.”
Linda Tavernor, Principal Strategic Manager at Abergele Community Action said, “We are delighted to receive this donation which will contribute to our work in Abergele and surrounding areas. Every penny will be well spent helping local people in crisis by providing emergency food parcels to people whilst identifying the reasons for the crisis and supporting people to find suitable solutions. We signpost people to other support agencies that can help them to resolve the underlying cause of the crisis and end the need for food parcels.”
