Bryson Group Highly Commended at Family Friendly Awards
The Bryson Group was delighted to receive the “highly commended” award at the Family Friendly Employer Awards held on Wednesday 24th Oct at Galgorm Hotel.
Clare Doran, Bryson HR Director commented on the awards,
This is a great recognition of the work that we are doing to embed family friendly initiatives into our policies and procedures. We now employ over 900 staff across a number of sites from Donegal, Enniskillen, Strabane, Belfast and North Wales. Alot of our staff are not office based and are out supporting vulnerable people in their own homes, or helping them tackle fuel poverty to providing recycling services. The judges commented that we demonstrated how 60% of our employees have accessed flexible working. We have a low rate of staff turnover and high rate of staff retention that shows what a positive impact our family friendly practices are having on our employees.
One of our employees told us about how our family friendly approach supports her family.
Claire McCallum from Bryson Recycing said,
When I returned to work after having my children I was able to access the Child Care Vouchers and work condensed hours. This allows me to leave early on a Friday meaning we have no childcare costs for that day and I get more time with the kids, which is a real bonus.
This was the 8th Annual UK Family Friendly Employer Awards and the first time that Bryson has entered. It is designed to recognise those employers who go above the legal requirements to provide family friendly policies and demonstrate commitment to helping employees achieve a work life balance.
